I love Abra simply because it is home. It's a wonderful province, just marred by dirty politics. Nonetheless, Abra is beautiful and I <3 it no matter what.

I know, these pictures don't (and won't) do any justice to the true beauty of Abra. So come over and see these sites for yourself.

Anyhow, spiff up your computer with these downloadable wallpapers. You can also send them as e-postcards to your family, friends and relatives.

Thanks to Richard, Kuya Godo and Vianne for their wonderful photos!

Blog EntryVisita Iglesia in AbraApr 3, '07 3:58 PM
for everyone

Inspired by Kuya Ivan who was one of the guests at Shoptalk on ANC the other day, I am also coming up with my own list of Visita Iglesia in Abra. Sure, you know what Visita Iglesia is all about but do you know why seven churches? Ivan Henares of Ivan About Town has a brief explanation on this:

"That custom of visiting seven churches on Holy Thursday is said to originate from the early Christian practice of visiting the seven great basilicas in Rome."

He also cited that "we should try to visit heritage churches so that we get a glimpse of Philippine culture while we pray. These centuries-old churches form an inherent part of our national identity, and we must thus endeavor to preserve them for future generations of Filipinos."

Anyway, here's a list of churches in Abra where you can visit this Semana Santa:

  • St. James the Elder Cathedral in Bangued
  • San Lorenzo Ruiz Shrine also in Bangued
  • St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Tayum
  • Immaculate Conception Church in Pidigan
  • Holy Cross Church in Lagangilang
  • St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church in Peñarrubia
  • St. Narcissus Church in Bucay

Since I couldn't find any video of the 2001 Coke TV Commercial on the Internet - name all the major search engines: YouTube, Google, Yahoo, Yehey etc...nada, zilch, nothing, wala, awan, ibbong, naid! - I decided to make a watercolor painting of it. Pasensya na, parang drawing ng Grade 1! Haha! Anyway, check out the article about Karl Kalabaw ad here.
